From my personal experience, the very beginning of under graduate education in computer science and engineering department most of the student has some fear about computer programming.
They have lot of question in their mind.
Why there are so many languages and what is the best for him/her? How this critical programming language help him for his future life. Today I am describing these questions and try to resolve those confusions. Just sit back and reading the following carefully, I think it will help you a little for your future carrier.
First thing what is computer programming? It’s nothing but a sequence of instructions to enable the computer to do something. It does because if you are working in IT Company (after your graduation) then the thing which matters is: "How can you save the efforts of other people (Customers) so that they will reward you". You can do this only if you automate the process which individual have to perform manually. This can be done by programming only.

Knowledge of computer programming habituates your mind to thinking in a sensible, common sense manner and that approach will benefit anyone in the information technology field. The ability to think rationally and use logic when making decisions in.
Second thing the most important matter Programming Contest (PC). In my teaching profession many student asked me, is it possible to go a best place in Programming Contest by me. I said those, your ranking is not a matter. You may be a good position in Programming Contest or may not whatever, it’s not a matter, the actual fact is by Programming Contest you can increasing your problem solving skill (which is the most important asset in your professional life in any place in Information Technology field, I am again saying it’s really very important, believe me).
After all if you work hard and practice well then it’s not too hard to go to a good place. You can earn million dollars by programming contest. Also currently most of the IT top companies like Microsoft, Google, IBM, Yahoo recruit their IT professional based on the Programming Contest ranking. If you have that good ranking then clearly your door is open for those companies. They will recruit you with high salary.
So what are you thinking now? I think it’s little bit clear now what is the importance of computer programming. So let’s start today and go ahead. Nothing is impossible.
